12.15.03 - The Year In Revue (Part I)
Well, now that our big tour of the UK is behind us, and our new CD has finally been released, Catapult has settled into a well deserved Christmas hiatus. I thought that now would be a great time to sit back and take a look at Catapult's first full year as a band. So now let's jump into the time capsule and go all the way back to...

January 1st - Catapult rang in the New Year at drummer Karl Haas' house. We toasted to the future of Catapult and listened to mixes of songs off the soon to be released, Broken Nursery Rhymes.

January 5th - It was a cold snowy winter's night when Catapult took the stage at the legendary Boston venue, T.T. The Bear's Place. Despite it snowing out we managed to get a really nice crowd down there, and we played our hearts out. I played so hard in fact that at one point during the show I realized I was bleeding quite profusely from hands all over my guitars! Rock and roll!!!

February 18th - Catapult releases their first CD, Broken Nursery Rhymes. We were, and still are, very proud of this CD. We had only been a band for six months, and already we had a superb 5 song E.P. out.

April 22nd - Catapult announce the addition of keys player, Nick D'Amico. Hmm... er... well... more on that later.

May 7th - Catapult travel down to Philadelphia, PA to play at the Grape Street Pub. Probably not our best gig ever. I was a bit tired and stressed about a few things that night. This was never so prominent as when I threatened to beat the crowd with my shoes! Probably not my best moment as a front man, but hey, we all have our weaknesses. I then crawled off stage and fell asleep in the back of the van till the rest of the show was over.

May 21st - Catapult bass player Erick Ellison and his wife Kathleen announced they were going to be parents. This was a proud day for all. As I type this I'm anxiously awaiting a phone call from the Ellison's telling me that a new life has entered this world. I for one believe that you couldn't pick two better people to be parents. Kathleen has been the Catapult mom since day one, and Erick, is a warm, caring, and thoughtful human being whose love for music will only be surpassed by the love for his child.

June 11th - Big Frank Records and Catapult become the first independent record label and artist to sell mp3's online using Peppercoin's micropayment technology. Not all that exciting to write about, but still it's a real milestone for independent record labels.

June 16th - Catapult play at the legendary Harper's Ferry in Boston. Before the show we tried to grab something to eat, which is customary for us to do. However, in this case it took so long to get our food that we didn't get it until 20 minutes before we went on stage. So we choked it down and took the stage, where the heat was so hot that twice on stage we almost became an avant garde punk band when I had to hold back my dinner from coming back up on me! Yuck!!

June 17th - Catapult being a week long recording session to track drums for their first full length CD, 42. What a long, long week this was. We recorded drums for 12 tracks, only 10 of which appeared on the album. The two tracks which didn't make it were, Infection (fast), and Chance To Say.
